Speaker Pelosi's Visit to Massachusetts
On May 3, I had the opportunity to attend a discussion between U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the women of the Massachusetts Congressional Delegation, Congresswomen Katherine Clark, Ayanna Pressley, and Lori Trahan. The event, held at Tufts University in Medford, covered a variety of subjects ranging from the affordability of childcare to early education.
I came away from the discussion feeling encouraged not only by the hard work of the delegation and the roles they play in Washington, but also by the energy and leadership provided by a group of intelligent and bold women. The event touched on the importance of leaders always being in touch with the reasons why they ran for office in the first place – to make change, to help others, to serve a town, a state, or a country. As ever, I am grateful and proud for the opportunity I have had to serve as State Representative for my district, leading the way on laws protecting children, workers, the environment, and much more.
